About

Renee Maksoud,
MA, AMFT, APCC

I am a dual associate marriage and family therapist and associate clinical counselor with an emphasis on trauma-informed care, psychedelic integration, and personal growth. Creating a strong therapeutic alliance, where you feel understood and supported, is crucial for effective therapy. I focus on building such a relationship, ensuring a space where your experiences and feelings are acknowledged and respected.

Sessions are collaborative and tailored to your individual needs, offering a safe, supportive space for healing and change to occur. My approach is integrative and adaptive, drawing from holistic healing methods such as somatic and mindfulness approaches, with a specialization in complex trauma, psychedelic integration and sex & intimacy therapy. I offer therapeutic approaches such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), NARM, body awareness practices, narrative therapy, depth and transpersonal psychology. I support individuals, families, couples, and polycules.

I am a queer woman of Syrian, Japanese, and Caucasian background with personal insight into the long-reaching ripple effects that complex trauma can create in individuals, families, and relationships. I have years of experience working one-on-one with clients in various clinical settings and a passion for helping people deepen their exploration and connection to authentic, meaningful living.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my loved ones (especially my Husky/Australian Shepherd mix), exploring the city, and creating art.

I'm a proud affiliate of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, & Therapists. I'm currently completing a fellowship at The Integration Collective specializing in psychedelic integration. If you believe we could be a good match, please reach out for a free 15-minute phone call to begin your therapeutic journey.
